A dish coming from the hills of Impruneta, a village in the Tuscan countryside near Florence, which is, apart from peposo, known for the production of bricks. It is said that in the time of Brunelleschi, during construction of famous dome of Duomo di Firenze, workers who were baking the bricks, during breaks made this dish of beef and pepper in earthen vessel from their Impruneta.
